A new Halo release is officially on the way in 2028, but it comes with a big catch. Picking up this release costs a massive $1,995, meaning it may be priced significantly higher than many Halo fans are looking to spend.
The Halo franchise is currently experiencing one of the most turbulent periods in its history. After over a decade of releasing games to a middling reception, Halo Studios has been pulled from the helm of the Halo franchise, layoffs leaving it as little more than a support studio. Instead, Activision will develop the next Halo game, marking a significant change in direction for the franchise.
Despite Halo's ongoing shift, it isn't completely abandoning everything has come before. In 2028, Prime 1 Studio is releasing its 1/4 scale Elite Zealot and Grunt Minor statue, based on their appearance in Halo: Campaign Evolved. These two Covenant footsoldiers are rendered in stunning detail, the statue standing at a large 31.88 inches when the Elite Zealot has its Energy Sword. In the other hand, the Elite is equipped with a Needler, while the $1,995 bonus version comes with a swappable left hand wielding a Plasma Rifle. For a little bit of extra detail, the Elite's Energy Sword and Needler and the Grunt's mask come with small LED lighting units, giving it a distinctive glow.
The figure is limited to just 500 units worldwide, making it a very exclusive piece for Halo fans. It's intended as a companion piece to Prime 1 Studio's Halo: Campaign Evolved Master Chief figure, which went up for pre-order at the same time as the Elite Zealot and Grunt Minor. Those who pre-order both at the same time via Prime 1 Studio will also receive a bonus freebie: a Master Chief arm set with dual-wielded Magnum pistols for more customization.

This is undoubtedly a premium statue, especially for the price. The good news is that there is also a standard version available, priced at $1,605. It's not cheap by any measure, and buyers will not receive the additional left hand with the Plasma Rifle. Still, for anyone who wants to shave off nearly $400 and pre-order this new Halo release, this could be a good option.
It's almost impossible to say what the future of the Halo franchise looks like at this point in time. The layoffs at Halo Studios and Activision taking over means it could be a while before any new game is released, with rumors that multiple projects have been shelved in the wake of the situation unfolding.
