The PS5 has been on the market for years now, giving PlayStation plenty of time to build out its current generation beyond the console itself, and now a brand-new PS5 controller is joining that console family. While PS5 games will always remain the main attraction, even when they are no longer physical, the hardware surrounding them has become its own part of the PS5 experience. After all, that's why Sony invests so much in making more PS5 hardware beyond the console.
The PS5 DualSense controller has always played a major role in the PS5's identity. Its adaptive triggers and haptic feedback gave the PS5 a new way to make games feel more physical, while its design quickly became one of the most recognizable pieces of PlayStation hardware. Since launch, Sony has also used the PS5 controller as a way to experiment with different colors, special editions, and designs, and the latest brings with it a unique collab.
PlayStation has now revealed the Lisa Limited Edition PS5 DualSense wireless controller, via the PlayStation Blog, revealing that it is created in collaboration with global pop star Lisa. The controller will be available in highly limited quantities beginning October 30 for $84.99, with pre-orders opening October 2 at 10 AM local time. The collaboration follows PlayStation's first work with Lisa on its global PS5 campaign last year. The design incorporates several details connected to Lisa, including her iconic bangs and eyes across the DualSense touchpad, along with her signature stars and "LL" lettering. Everything is presented in a Chroma Pearl colorway, which PlayStation says is Lisa's personal favorite.
The controller is being sold directly through PlayStation and at participating retailers globally, while supplies last, beginning October 2.

The PS5 accessory is only part of the collaboration. A broader Lisa x PlayStation merchandise collection is also launching in the U.S. during October, with apparel, hats, tote bags, keychains, stickers, a DualSense controller carrying case, and other items making up the collab. Some of the merchandise will be available to pre-order through PlayStation beginning October 2 at 10 AM ET before launching October 30, while additional products will arrive October 23 through Lisa's official Amazon store and the Amazon Music app.
The timing also lines up with Lisa's upcoming EP, Press Play, which is scheduled to release October 23. Lisa said gaming is something she enjoys when she has time to relax and that she had fun adding personal details to the PlayStation collection. Between the limited DualSense controller, new merchandise, and her upcoming music, the unique PlayStation collab brings gaming hardware into another area of popular culture beyond the PS5 itself.
