The Solo Leveling anime ended its run with Season 2 Episode 13, with the conclusion of the Jeju Island arc. By that point in the story, Jinwoo has already become one of the strongest characters around, having far surpassed the likes of the regular S-Rank Hunters. This was clear when he subdued the Ant King and turned him into his own underling, known as Beru.
While Jinwoo is undoubtedly powerful, at the end of season 2, he has yet to become the absolute strongest. There are still quite a few characters that he has yet to surpass, although with Jinwoo's growth speed, that will not take too long.
Sung Jinwoo went from one of the weakest hunters in South Korea to one of the very strongest. However, he is not yet the strongest in his very own family. That is because Sung Jinwoo's father, Sung Il-Hwan, is still a massive powerhouse that Jinwoo hasn't surpassed yet.
In the anime, we've already seen quite a lot of Hwan. He made his first appearance in Solo Leveling episode 15, and immediately after, he was unveiled as an impressive threat. He was able to subdue South Korean-American S-rank Hunter Hwang Dongsu without even breaking a sweat. The Solo Leveling anime has been setting up Hwang as a major character. His role is certainly going to be interesting, and while Jinwoo will eventually surpass his father, he has not gotten there quite yet.
Sung Jinwoo is as strong as he is today through the power of the mysterious System. The power was first revealed to us early on in Solo Leveling Season 1, after Jinwoo almost met his death against the God Statue. Ever since then, it's been clear that someone or something is behind this mystical power.
Solo Leveling's next animated project, Solo Leveling: Beyond System, is about to reveal the man behind it all, a character known as the Architect. The Architect, as his title implies, is the one commanding everything from the shadows. Jinwoo's ascension to power is all thanks to him. Solo Leveling: Beyond System will show us the true potential of this enemy. While his own creations, the God Statues, are powerful enough to defeat hunters on their own, the Architect himself is on a whole other level. Jinwoo will first need to get a new power-up before he is able to face the Architect head-on, especially as the Architect himself is the one who has granted him his powers, and he is a character who can strip them from him.
In the world of Solo Leveling, there is a superior class of S-Rank Hunters known as National-level Hunters. These Hunters are single-handedly able to take down whole countries with their might. Among these National-level hunters, one who has stood out greatly is Liu Zhigang.
Liu Zhigang has already made his anime appearance, albeit very briefly. He was seen at the end of Solo Leveling Season 2, where he took down some escaping Ant Soldiers. His power was only briefly shown, but at the moment, he is undoubtedly Asia's strongest Hunter, even ahead of Sung Jinwoo. He has far more experience, and he is a mighty Hunter whom Jinwoo will surpass very soon. It is only after surpassing Liu that Jinwoo can officially call himself the strongest Hunter of Asia.
