Square Enix and Taito announced that it will offer Final Fantasy AM Chocobo cosplay hats in Japanese arcades. There will be two variants available. These will show up as prizes starting in “late” October 2026, and the official site didn’t offer an exact debut date for them yet. It’s also unknown if we could eventually see them sold worldwide.
The two styles feature the more chibi take on a Chocobo as seen in the Chocobo’s Dungeon and Chocobo Racing spin-offs and Alpha in FFXIV. When worn, it looks like the top of the bird’s head and its beak is on a person’s. One variant has the character’s eyes open, and the other closed. Both look to have a velcro-affixed strap at the bottom.
Here’s the first image showing both of them. The size is apparently 25 cm/~10 in, but it doesn’t note more specific dimensions.
There is a new Final Fantasy game on the way worldwide. Square Enix will release an adaptation of Final Fantasy Brave Exvius as the HD-2D title Final Fantasy Resonance. That shows up worldwide on October 22, 2026, though a demo is out for it now.
The Final Fantasy AM Chocobo cosplay hats will debut in Japan toward the end of October 2026.
