The Blood of Dawnwalker sets players loose in an open world filled with loot and stories alike, but given the limited time you have before Coen's family gets executed, you'll need to be picky about the quests you do and equipment you work towards. Doing side quests, looting valuable treasure chests, and even unlocking skill points consumes Time Segments, and if you don't want to waste a single second trying to get stronger in Blood of Dawnwalker, here are some of the best early game weapons, armor, and skill books that you should definitely try to get as soon as possible.
The Leech Collectors questline is all about hitting a few outposts belonging to Boyar Ambrus in northern Vale Sangora, just outside of Laslea. Defeating enemies and looting the camps in these quests should give you some decent early equipment upgrades, but the real prize here is the Phial of Bakir's Blood that you get after beating the Bloodletter, a miniboss who appears after you destroy the final leech collector camp.
Consuming Bakir's blood will unlock a Vampirism ability for you to unlock via Shrines. I'm not sure if the unlocked skill will be the same for everyone, but in my case, I got the Shadowstorm ability, which slows down time for everyone but yourself while in combat.
You can get more phials of Bakir's blood in later areas, but I recommend doing Leech Collectors first since all the camps here are in low-level areas with weak enemies.
There's a waterfall near a bridge to the northwest of Svartrau that has a secret cave full of loot. Head to the map marker above, then go past the waterfall to the right. Enter that cave, and you'll find a ton of silver items that you can sell to a Silver Merchant for thousands of Denarii. Here, you'll also find the Arbiter's Medallion, a legendary amulet that provides the following stats:
Before you can sell Silver in Blood of Dawnwalker, you'll first need to complete the Into the Den quest then talk to the Silver Merchant in Svartrau.
There are two super sprint passives in Blood of Dawnwalker that let you traverse the map more quickly than usual: Shapeshift under Vampirism, and Mercurial Fervour under Witchcraft.
For this passive ability, you need to drink human blood while in vampire form to increase your Corruption level. Drink enough blood to raise Corruption, then unlock the Shapeshift ability in the skill tree.
