In Onimusha: Way of the Sword, players get to collect six different Oni Armaments throughout the main story. Most are placed in very obvious locations, but two can be missed if you decide to speed through certain maps without going off the beaten path. Each Oni Armament has a unique function, and they serve as complementary tools instead of alternatives to Musashi's trusty katana. All Oni Armaments require blue souls, which you can get by defeating enemies, hitting targets while in the Blazing State, or using Break Issen on a boss' purple weakspots.
There are various upgrades available for each Oni Armament, further improving their effectiveness in their respective roles. Upgrades are unlocked using Oni Stones and red souls.
This pair of twin blades is the first Oni Armament players will get in Onimusha: Way of the Sword. You get the Twin Celestials inside a cave during the mission in Kiyomizu-dera Temple. The game will lead you right to it, so don't worry about missing out on this.

The Wind Whipper is an ornate naginata that you automatically get once you enter the Practice Grounds at your home base in Kyoto. This weapon's long reach makes it perfect for dealing with large groups of weak enemies, and it's surprisingly effective against stronger ones as well, thanks to its ability to continuously stagger them.
When used, Musashi will spin around using the Wind Whipper, causing a miniature whirlwind to form and damage enemies. If you hit an open flame with this attack, the whirlwind will ignite, causing it to deal more damage and set enemies on fire. Don't underestimate the damage potential of the Wind Whipper. It'll get you out of many sticky situations.
