During the Prologue, the story will unfold and explain to you how the people of Vale Sangora are trapped within the Valley, making them an easy target for Brencis and his companions in The Blood of Dawnwalker. However, if you think that exiting the Valley is a myth, it is not, as during your exploration of the Coward's Path area, you'll come across an exit. Interacting with it will make you choose between staying or leaving. If the choice leaves you conflicted, follow this article to learn what each option will lead to in The Blood Of Dawnwalker.
The following article contains spoilers, so read at your own risk!
After finding the Valley exit in Coward’s Path, you are faced with the choice of abandoning everyone, including your family, and escaping the Valley, or staying and helping everyone against the Vrakhiri. This choice will leave you wondering which choice to make and what each choice might lead to. The answer is quite easy here: there is no right answer, as both will lead to different consequences.
You will continue Coen's journey normally and will need to follow the main quest to save his family from Brencis in The Blood of Dawnwalker. You'll have to do this during a period of 30 in-game days, which passes by spending your time doing side quests for other companions or NPCs.
Now, if you choose to exit the Valley of Vale Sangora, you'll end the game early, and Coen will escape the responsibility of saving his family and all the Valley residents. Phew!
You'll get the A Hero They Deserve Hidden Achievement after choosing to exit the Valley, and The Blood of Dawnwalker Achievement, if it's your first time completing the game.
However, that is not all you'll get for ending the game quickly. If you skip or watch the credits, you'll trigger a special cutscene that features an injured Coen in the modern world where an unknown entity will be chasing him. This will only leave you with more questions about who that could be, and how Coen ends up there, wounded and chased by whom?
Throughout my playthrough, I tried getting the other endings, and that didn't change the outcome of the cutscene, even when Brencis was defeated.
