Precision Passing is all about manual aiming. So, try to input the best possible location for your pass before the player sends it.
AI-driven assists that players get while passing in FC 27 have been tuned down. This means aiming your passes correctly now is more important than ever. The AI will no longer refine the direction of your passes to help you complete a through pass successfully. So, even slightly reckless aiming will result in a bad pass that gives the ball possession to the opposing team.
To prevent this from happening, you can send a precision through pass. As the name implies, you are in control of where the ball goes when sending a precision pass, as you get to determine the ball's destination point on the pitch.
Since it's a through pass at its core, you want to send it to an open space where your target player is going to be moments after sending the pass. So, you should direct the pass to a player's feet. Also, since it's a direct pass, you need to make sure that the line between the passer and the destination of the ball is free of any opposing players; otherwise, your rival will block the pass easily.
This problem is partially solved with the Precision Swerve Pass. This is almost the same as the Precision Through Pass, but it comes with a slight curve. Again, an opposing player very close to the line of passing can intercept it, but a Precision Swerve Pass has a better survival chance than a Precision Through Pass, though it's slower.
Remember that you don't have to replace the regular through pass with the precision through pass. The former is still the fastest way of sending the ball to a pushing attacker, and as long as you give it a good direction, the pass will be received successfully. However, you also have the precision passing option.
It's a little slower to send this one, as it requires manual positioning, but the bonus is that it will force the receiver to actually run towards the ball's destination point rather than following their original route. This is why the success rate of precision passing is higher than regular through balls.
