Finally, the series is set to enjoy some consistency after a very difficult release schedule. With this new chapter, Eiichiro Oda continued to expand upon the battle that is currently unfolding in the underworld of Elbaf. Monkey D. Luffy and Loki continued their assault against the King of the World, Nerona Imu, and even made a dent in this week's chapter.
However, what truly stood out was Imu's fusion ability that allowed him to merge two of his blades together to create an incredibly powerful shield capable of blocking the vast majority of the attacks coming his way. This technique is the Shield of Emptiness, and we will most certainly see more such fusions as these battles continue.
The King of the World, Nerona Imu, made his proper debut in the Elbaf arc in One Piece Chapter 1179, which was released on April 5, 2026, in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #19. Since then, Imu has continuously impressed us with new abilities, all stemming from his Akuma no Mi via the power of Omen. Imu has shown immense capabilities not only in attacking and defending but also in summoning unique weapons. In One Piece Chapter 1189, which was released on July 26, 2026, in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #35, Nerona Imu showed the ability to summon the weapons of the Creators of the World Government straight from the Empty Throne.

These weapons are what the world was forged with, and they hold tremendous powers at their disposal. So far, we have seen quite a lot of exciting weapons already, such as Nemesis, Stigma, Vohu, Fragarach, Xingtian Axe, Honebami Toshiro, Longinus, and Gram, among others. There are also quite a lot of exciting weapons that haven't been revealed to us just yet, but all of these weapons were revived by Nerona using the power of his Omen, which stems from the Akuma no Mi.
While that in itself was incredibly impressive, One Piece Chapter 1192 took things to a completely new level on September 6, 2026. In this release, it was shown that Imu can even fuse together these weapons to create a completely new weapon. Using the power of Omen, Imu fused the Blade of Nothingness: Vohu, and the Blade of Chaos: Tohu. Together, these two created the Shield of Emptiness, which became incredibly powerful and was capable of stopping just about any strike coming its way. In this chapter, we saw this weapon stop Monkey D Luffy's attacks and even make his hands bleed. Breaking Imu's Shield of Emptiness was certainly not easy, but Luffy eventually did manage it with the help of Loki.
