Collect sword shards from three different locations to wield Mihai's powerful sword in The Blood of Dawnwalker. While the locations will be marked on the map, Coen will most likely be underleveled to complete all of them. So, take some time to explore and spend some skill points to become more powerful.
To complete the Forge It Anew quest, you need to find sword shards in three locations by finishing the following sub-quests:
There is no correct order to complete these quests, but some areas are more challenging than others.
The Forge It Anew: Do Not Disturb quest is triggered by finding a bloody camp located north of Maragir Wealds. Investigate the camp using Focus Mode to eventually find the trail of blood. Follow it to find a cave guarded by some Kobolds. Kill them and head inside to find even more enemies.
Investigate the mural on the wall as well as the map. The latter will point out two more caves you can visit as well. After looting everything, choose to Pick Up Sword Shard by spending 3 hours.
Head north of Rockfalls, near Shrike's Crag, to find the second cave. You need to climb the hills as the cave is hidden in the mountains. There are some wolves outside as well as Kobolds' dead bodies. Go inside carefully, as there's a giant Kobold named Munch-Munch roaming around.
Coen must defeat this boss to loot the cave properly. Similar to before, search everything to get some decent items and inspect the mural and map. If this is your first cave in the Forge It Anew quests series, the map will lead you to the remaining caves. Sacrifice 3 hours to pick up the Sword Shard when done.
Travel southeast of St. Tyna's Grove, near Tantari, to locate the third cave. It's also very close to the inn Anca is staying at. At the cave's entrance, there is a deserted camp. Once you head inside, there are a lot of dead Kobolds and guards, but no sword shard. Inspect all the bodies to gain information, which takes 3 hours once you're done. One of them will have a letter hinting at an Uriashi blacksmith, and another will lead Coen to a camp where the soldiers took the shard.
