Fortnite's 9th annual Birthday celebration has kicked off with a small mini-event that runs from September 21 until the arrival of the annual Fortnitemares Event on October 1. While players can complete quests to earn free rewards, one of these quests seems to be incompletable for Battle Royale players, at least during the first few hours of the update. Here is how to eat slices of Birthday Cake in Fortnite.
If you are playing during the first few hours of the 9th Birthday update going live, you may have found that, while the Birthday Cakes are live, the Cake Slice consumables are nowhere to be seen in Battle Royale. This has made the quest temporarily incompletable in Chapter 7 Season 4.
Until Epic Games works on a fix, the only way to complete this quest is to instead play Fortnite OG, where you can already find the Cake Slices. Cake can be found at numerous named locations in Fortnite, most notably at the following:
Each cake should have around four Cake Slices, allowing you to complete the quest in one game of OG. While there are more cakes found across other landmarks, the quest specifies that you need to eat cakes found at named locations, so stick to the POIs listed above to ensure they count. Upon completing the quest, you will be awarded 5,000 XP towards your Battle Pass and OG Pass.
