It looks like Xbox will no longer promote the PS5 versions of multiplatform games.
Earlier in the year, at Summer Game Fest, there was a big hullabaloo as Microsoft’s upper-brass appeared to contradict each other.
In a rehearsed, Xbox Wire interview, Chief Content Officer Matt Booty said Xbox would include any PS5 logos in multiplatform games during its Xbox Showcase livestream.
But after a backlash from fans on social media, new CEO Asha Sharma said it “was a miss and I own it”. She indicated the company would adjust moving forwards.
And it looks like we’re starting to see signs of that.
A new Minecraft Dungeons 2 trailer, posted to the official Xbox YouTube channel late last week, only mentions Xbox Series X|S and PC as intended platforms.
No version of the trailer is available on PlayStation’s YouTube channel, but a slightly different edit uploaded by IGN includes references to PS5, Steam, Switch, and Switch 2.
A previous Xbox trailer for the game, uploaded around Summer Game Fest, also references PS5, Steam, Switch, and Switch 2.
