Rockstar Games has issued a new statement on the upcoming Grand Theft Auto 6. Fans have been waiting 13 years for the release of Grand Theft Auto 6. The highly-anticipated game was originally expected to launch in 2025, but its release date was ultimately delayed to May 2026. The GTA 6 release date was then pushed back yet again, with November 19, 2026 the latest date announced for the game.
Given Rockstar's history of release date delays and the fact that GTA 6 has already been delayed twice, there is understandably some that are nervous it could be delayed again. However, as we get closer to the announced GTA 6 release date, a delay seems increasingly unlikely, and Rockstar itself has reiterated its confidence that it will launch on November 19.
In a recent interview with Famitsu, Rockstar developer Rob Nelson was asked about the possibility that the GTA 6 release date will be delayed again. Nelson stated that "it will definitely be released," so unless something changes between now and then, fans can look forward to playing the game on November 19 and mark their calendars accordingly. Of course, there's always the chance that a last-minute delay will happen, but Rockstar seems confident that it won't.

The reassurance about the GTA 6 release date comes at a rather exciting time for fans of the game. Rockstar recently released the GTA 6 Extended Look on Netflix, giving fans their first proper look at gameplay. The GTA 6 Extended Look was met with a great deal of praise and, based on recent hardware sales data, was impressive enough that it triggered people to go out and buy PS5s and Xboxes so that they can play the game when it launches on November 19.
After the Extended Look aired, Rockstar released some fresh screenshots of GTA 6. One screenshot showed GTA 6 playable protagonists Jason and Lucia driving in Vice City, while another showed them looking angry, staring down at someone and holding guns at their side. The third image showed off Vice City and the surrounding waters, highlighting the upcoming game's impressive graphics and detail. Between the Extended Look and the new screenshots, Rockstar Games is doing a lot to build significant hype for Grand Theft Auto 6, and with its release date seemingly set in stone, fans can start making their plans for the big November 19 launch.
It's likely that Rockstar will show off GTA 6 again at some point between now and release. It was leaked that there may be more GTA 6 Netflix presentations, with two more expected after the Extended Look, but that has yet to be officially confirmed. We are just a little over two months away from the GTA 6 release date, though, so Rockstar is running out of time to show off the game before launch. Hopefully more on the game comes sooner rather than later so fans have even more to discuss while they wait for its release.
