Microsoft announced via the official XBOX Wire blog today that pre-orders are officially opening on the XBOX 25th Anniversary Collection, a console bundle dedicated to the original XBOX and the lovely games it brought us. The collection will be launching on November 13, 2026, in time for the anniversary date (which was technically November 15, 2001, but y’know, details), and if you’re interested, you can throw down a pre-order for the whole kaboodle via the XBOX website or at participating retailers.
The collection has an MSRP of $899.99 USD, in line with the projected price tag that leaked last week, though Microsoft notes that pricing may vary by market and region, and advises players outside the United States to check with their local Microsoft Store or authorized retailer for local prices.
To clarify, the pre-orders for the XBOX 25th Anniversary Collection that are opening today aren’t actually for everyone. According to the XBOX Wire post, today’s pre-orders are by invitation only. Those who are chosen to receive the first go will be notified via an email, which will contain a special link to the XBOX website where you can put down your pre-order.
The XBOX Wire post doesn’t specify how these first-run users are being selected, merely calling them “some of XBOX’s most dedicated fans.” If I had to guess, it’s probably a promotional thing for influencers and whatnot.
