Solo Leveling has had a quiet 2026 so far, with no new content concerning the TV anime or the Ragnarok sequel manhwa for fans to enjoy this year. However, the franchise has been making advancements in other departments, especially when it comes to gaming. Netmarble Studios is officially planning the launch of Solo Leveling: Karma in the upcoming months. This new game release directly ties to both the web novel and the manga of Solo Leveling, as it expands upon the lore of the 27-Year Monarch War, which Chugong, the original creator, largely skipped over in the original story.
This new story release is officially making Sung Jinwoo a God-level fighter by pushing him to heights never seen before and making him the absolute strongest in the world of mortals.
Solo Leveling Karma is an incredibly ambitious gaming project that is unique in the sense that it ties directly into the overarching lore created by the original author of the series, Chugong. In his own web novel, Chugong didn't particularly focus on the 27-Year Monarch War, which was, in essence, the epilogue of the story. In this segment of the story, Sung Jinwoo used the Cup of Reincarnation to rewind time and undertake his adventure all over again in an attempt to prevent any loss of life and bring back those who had fallen. This time, however, he had to defeat all the Monarchs without any help, so that others around him wouldn't get hurt. Naturally, this was quite a daunting task even for Sung Jinwoo. Not only would he be pushed back to level 1, just as he was in the very beginning of Solo Leveling Season 1, but at the same time, he wouldn't have any allies to back him up in his battle against the Monarchs this time around.
That is precisely what makes the 27-Year Monarch War as exciting as it is, but conversely, it is also what makes it a massive missed opportunity because the author never focused on it in the original story. In the upcoming release of Solo Leveling Karma, which is set to come out in the latter half of the next few months, this very version of Sung Jinwoo will finally receive a lot of highlights as he goes on to reach the absolute pinnacle of strength and destroy all the Monarchs standing in his way.
At the end of the original Solo Leveling story, Sung Jinwoo becomes incredibly powerful, especially as he defeats Antares, the Monarch of Destruction and the one widely regarded as the absolute strongest. However, he then undertakes his entire journey once again from the very beginning, and this time, without the aid of any other allies.
The fact that Jinwoo was able to defeat every single Monarch without the help of anyone else simply goes to show that he reached an even higher level of strength in his second run. Jinwoo still managed to defeat Antares at the end of the 27-Year Monarch War, and by doing so, he became the officially strongest in the entire world. His Shadow Monarch powers had reached a completely new level by this time, and all things considered, Jinwoo was an absolute calamity to take on in battle.
Now, Chugong is collaborating with Netmarble Studios, as confirmed at Anime Expo 2026 on July 5, to bring to life this God version of Sung Jinwoo for all the fans to enjoy. Given the nature of Sung Jinwoo's powers, his progression doesn't stop with the 27-Year Monarch War. He continues to grow in strength at all times and reach a level where no mortal can stand up to him. Sung Jinwoo is, in every sense of the word, a God-level being in the world of Solo Leveling, and that has been especially highlighted in the sequel story Solo Leveling Ragnarok, where he fights the Itarim Gods.
