In The Blood of Dawnwalker, understanding how to heal Coen inside and outside combat is absolutely essential for mastering the core gameplay loop. As a Dawnwalker, the things that heal Coen during the day aren’t the same things that heal him during the night.
Additionally, recipes for potions and salves aren’t available right from the start of a playthrough. Not only do you need to unlock them, but you also need to find the ingredients required to craft these healing items yourself. Here’s how.
In daytime, Coen can eat food and drink potions to heal himself, equip himself with armor that improves healing, or invest in Witchcraft abilities that make health recovery more potent.
Potions and healing salves can provide Coen with an instant burst of healing or health recovery over time, respectively. You can make them from the Crafting menu after you find and read their recipes. These recipes can be found randomly as loot or purchased from certain merchants.
Healing items can be assigned to the Quick Slots from your inventory, in the Consumables tab. Don't forget to do that with your newly crafted potions before entering combat.
