Black Clover reached its end on May 1, 2026, when Yuki Tabata, the creator, released the final batch of chapters, wrapping up the 11-year-long run of the franchise. At the end of Black Clover, quite a lot of developments took place that changed the world forever. Lucius was defeated by Yuno and Asta, and the new Wizard King emerged. The epilogue fleshed out some character endings, and we got to see most of our cast live happily ever after. At the same time, the end of Black Clover changed the list of strongest characters forever. Many powerful foes like Lucius and Lucifero died, leaving behind some powerhouses that took their spots as the very strongest.
Mereoleona is not a character to mess with. After what happened to her brother Fuegoleon, she took up his role and became the temporary leader of the Crimson Lion. Immediately, it became apparent that Mereoleona is not only one of the strongest Magic Knight Squad Leaders of all time, but one of the strongest characters overall.
During the Spade Kingdom Raid arc, she took on a massive Ancient Demon, and then during Judgment Day, she was able to defeat Paladin Moris Libardirt, one of the strongest antagonists of Black Clover. While Noelle defeated Acier, the foe is brought back once more. Mereoleona then uses her Fire Ultimate Magic: Exercitus Leonum to take down the Paladin once and for all. Her fiery personality keeps her ready for a fight at all times. Mereoleona is undoubtedly in the same ranks as even the Wizard Kings. In the movie, Black Clover: The Sword of the Wizard King, she even defeated the 11th Wizard King, Princia Funnybunny, in a one-on-one battle, proving her worth in doing so.
Yami was looked down on for being the Captain of the Black Bulls because among the Magic Knight Squads, the Black Bulls were the least prestigious group. Under his leadership across the story, however, they became the greatest squad of all time. Yami has proved himself as a mighty and reliable leader through and through, and he is one of the very strongest characters in the history of Black Clover.
What makes Yami as powerful as he is is his special magic attribute, which is Dark Magic. Dark Magic is rare, and as the name implies, it allows one to control and create darkness. When used in cohesion with powerful swordsmanship skills he learned in Hino, Yami can unleash some of the deadliest attacks in Black Clover and cut through space itself. Until Yuno ascended to the role of Magic Knight Squad Leader, Yami was the strongest of all time among their ranks. Yami has retired at the end of Black Clover, so while he might not grow much further, he has already cemented himself as one of the greatest.
Noelle has always been a striking character in the Black Clover series. She first made her debut in Black Clover Chapter 4. Despite being royalty from the Silva family, she had to join the Black Bulls due to her complicated relationship with her siblings. Noelle was looked down upon by her family for most of her life; however, she was able to prove them all wrong and become one of the strongest mages of all time despite her rough start.
As the main heroine of Black Clover, we always expected greatness from Noelle, and she definitely did not disappoint. At full power, with the Water Spirit Leviathan, Noelle is unstoppable. Her Sage Valkyrie Dress is one of the greatest power-ups in Black Clover, as it allowed her to go toe-to-toe with powerful foes like Paladin Acier and the high-ranking devil Megicula. While the Leviathan did leave Noelle at the end of Black Clover, it is always there to help her if needed. She is a Wizard King-level character through her connection to Lumiel Silvamillion, the first Wizard King of Black Clover.
