Leveling up in Aniimo might not be as simple as one thinks, and there are many different things to level up. But none of those EXP eating bars are as important as your Student Level, because this acts as a Hard Cap for every other Level in the game, limiting how much your Aniimo and Character can level up. Increasing your Student Level is done by following the Core Courses of your Elite Pathfinding Training, and here's every step of the process summarized in a guide, so you know how to deal with every level cap you find in the game.
As mentioned before, your Student Level determines the Hard Cap for all leveling in the game, from your Character to your Aniimo team. And to increase your Student Level (or Pathfinder Level) you need to complete all the Elite Training Courses, or, at least, four objectives per Chapter. Each chapter represents a level cap (10-15, 20-25, 25-35,35-40, and so on), so if players want to reach the maximum level (70) they will need to overcome Three Stages of progression per Chapter:
This will officially upgrade your Pathfinder/Student Level and grant you a certain number of Report Cards used to unlock new Passive and Active abilities.
Now there's a second system related to your Student/Pathfinder Levels you must be aware of, and that's the Research Level. This is linked to your overall contribution to the Institute's Research Project. Earning Research points by reporting through the Research Console is the best way to further enhance your understanding of your Aniimo companions, and to empower them faster.
It can be increased by Capturing Aniimo, Discovering information on their Ecosystem and Families, completing Side-Objectives, and then reporting to the Outpost.
Each Research Rank will also influence your Knowledge Level of each Aniimo family. This will unlock, for example, more Held Item Slots to equip your Partners with, and in some cases, Evolution Paths.
So there you have it, both Student/Pathfinder Levels and Research levels are separate systems, but they're related to each other, making leveling up in Aniimo quite an adventure.
