Fortnite has released its final set of Sprites before the inevitable overhaul of Halloween-themed critters when Fortnitemares begins October 1. While players may still be searching for every Bounty Hunter variant and the Morgana Sprite, Fortnite's 9th Birthday celebration also gives players the chance to get their hands on the Birthday Sprite. Here is how.
The Birthday Sprite was added to Fortnite during the September 26 Power Hour at 2 PM ET, though you can also get the Sprite at any time afterward. Like most Sprites, the Birthday Sprite can be obtained through both Cheat Codes and Chests. Since it is a Rare Sprite, your best bet for finding it is through Rare Cheat Codes.
As for the other variants, they should be more common in Epic and Legendary Cheat Codes, but they also have a chance of being dropped from Rare ones, albeit at a reduced rate. Here's every variant of the Birthday Sprite in Fortnite, along with all the possible ways you can get them:

The Birthday Sprite has the unique effect of supplying players with healing items. When equipped, opening Chests has a chance of dropping Birthday Cake Slices, and at max level, eliminations will also have the same effect. Birthday Cake heals for 10 Health and 10 Shield, which is not a whole lot unless you stack up multiple Slices over time.
As a reminder, the Birthday Sprite has no special XP rule set and can be leveled up like most base Sprites. The only exception here is the Bounty Hunter variant, which earns Sprite XP exclusively through eliminations.
